Santiago II Aguirre was born in Saltillo, Mexico in 1970, and has lived and worked in Dallas, TX since 1997.

Being the youngest of four siblings and raised by a single mother after the passing of his father, Santiago learned a few lessons about life from an early age: the power of the mind; its creativity, and limitless imagination.

Santiago discovered his passion for art as a young child when left alone at the library where his mother once worked as a librarian, he began to draw and years later he went on painting.

Santiago’s painting is influenced by significant moments from his life throughout the decades and inspired by literature, movies, music, and the artists he admires (Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Freud, Magritte among others).

Santiago combines different techniques to create the illusion of depth, along with the contrast of lights and shadows, creating nostalgic emotion within each of his unique pieces of art.

Santiago’s artwork ranges from abstract to realism and surrealism. His
creativity and attention to detail have allowed him to grow and evolve.

Santiago’s work has been on display at the Dallas Museum of Art, Latino Cultural Center of Dallas, and brand-sponsored events, among other galleries and art shows.
